ACCORDING TO THE RECENTLY RELEASED 2007-08 Annual Report of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, Denison University is one of the top colleges for enrolling National Merit Scholars.
 With 34 awardees among the current first-year class — an all-time high — Denison is ranked seventh in the nation among undergraduate liberal arts colleges.
Others on the list include Macalester College, ranking sixth with 36 National Merit Scholars; Bowdoin College, eighth with 30; and Pomona College, ninth with 28.
“National Merit Scholars are the pride of their schools and community” says Denison President Dale Knobel. “We are pleased that so many understand that they can continue their pursuit of academic and leadership excellence at Denison.”
Since its establishment in 1955, National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has focused its resources on identifying and honoring the academically talented students of the United States.
